True Love

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails." (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NIV)

"Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and will all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37-39, NIV)

What a perfect time for God's children to demonstrate true love! He has chosen each of us to be a light to the world and this could not be a better time for us to shine for Him. God proved His love for us in that He sacrificed His Son so that we could be free of sin. Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13, NIV) Take time to love on Him today and let Him renew your heart. Fall in love with Him all over again and nestle in His embrace.

Slow down and take a moment to show kindness and love today. Listen to someone who oftentimes gets on your nerves. Stop long enough to open a door for someone. Buy lunch or a treat for someone who may be struggling financially. Give someone a genuine smile or hug. Tell a loved one that you are proud of them and love them very much.

God is love and greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We have love on the inside of us and we may be the first taste of true love to someone today. Let God work the above Scripture through you today and every day so that you may be a blessing to others wherever you go. Be a gift of love.
